#FlopWatch2014 Lady Gaga Announces European Leg of ARTPOP Ball

It was only a matter of time before Gaga announced the dates of the European leg of the ARTRAVE: ARTPOP Ball.  According to Pollstar, the last show in North America is on July 21st, 2014 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.  The European leg picks up in Merksem, Belgium on September 23rd, giving her a two month break in between legs. During that break, Gaga will disappear into a wooded area, sit on a rock (naked) and chant like a monk with a flaming ember shoved up his butt, to centre herself and calm her mind after the disastrous, poorly sold North American leg.  

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

The ARTPOP Ball is 9 dates shorter than the Born This Way Ball.  Here's the BTW Ball's dates.

Several cities from the BTW Ball aren't on the ARTRAVE schedule, like Sofia, Bucharest and Riga. Some of ARTRAVE's venues match the BTW Ball's venues, such as Vienna, Zurich and Barcelona. Others are downgrades, like Paris and London. Twickenham Stadium in London holds a capacity of 82,000; while O2 holds up to 20,000.  That's a big difference.  Same with Paris. Stade de France holds 81,338 while Zénith de Paris holds 6,293.  Wow!  What is going on Gaga? She's doing two dates in Paris at the same venue for ARTRAVE and that still won't match the Stade de France on one day.  

What's happening here is obvious. Gaga downgraded from mega-stadiums to arenas and other smaller venues.  Either because she completely missed the target the first time around and overestimated what she could sell or she's losing fans and popularity and she knows it.  She's removed her one foot from fantasy land and placed it back in reality land and adjusted her tour schedule accordingly. It's the same trick restaurants use when they use a smaller plate to make the portions look bigger. The North American tour dates aren't doing that great so far.  Could that be mirroring what will happen in Europe?  Folks, I think we're officially on FlopWatch2014.

Lady Gaga a cutter?

Media Take Out is alleging that Lady Gaga is cutting herself to cope with downward turn her career is taking.  Check this out.

Here's what I think.  Gaga is not cutting herself.  First, the scars look old.  Which indicates two things to me.

1.) She cut herself a long time ago to get attention and/or sympathy.

2.) She got it from jewellery.

I won't focus too much on point No.2 because it pretty much explains itself.  Point No.1 deserves a little more investigation.  Cutting is an obsessive disorder and is a by-product of depression, psychosis, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder (BPD).  Gaga may have suffered from at least one of these conditions, most likely depression.  Because the action of cutting is obsessive, the arms of an actual cutter would look more like this:

The injuries in the pictures are relatively fresh however the scars would be much more prominent than what appears on Stefani's arms.  So if Stefani cut herself in her past or present, those five little cuts that you see on her arms are most likely an experimentation geared to get sympathy.  In elementary school, a bunch of us girls did it too.  Guess why we did it? We did it for attention.  It was a faux cry for help that was not a result of any underlying condition.

My conclusion; Gaga is not cutting herself.   In my opinion, Stefani is definitely the type of personality that would seek out a self destructive method to cope with her problems.  In her case, it's likely drugs and/or alcohol, not cutting.  She is too vain and too concerned with her appearance to do anything to her face and body. Unless it's to improve it as she did through plastic surgery.

BUT! If there's anything that would drive the self proclaimed Saviour Queen of the Gays to cut herself, it would be because she wasn't asked to perform this number at The Grammy Awards. Madonna was.

Lady Gaga looks in the mirror and sees art. For real.

Oh the pretentiousness!  The arrogance!  The self importance and pomposity! Gaga went to The Louvre in Paris and for the first time, she laid her eyes on Bob Wilson's portraits of her.  

"I went to the Louvre today and saw the portraits Bob Wilson made of me. It was such a special moment. I wore archive Gianni [Versace] and wore my hair in metallic braids. It was a day I'll never forget."

From the girl who once said "Fuck fashion. Beauty is a lie"; who now brags about designer clothes and has had extensive plastic surgery to alter her appearance.  How's that "born this way/God makes no mistake" message going Gaga? What a pitiful and shallow existence it must be for someone to define herself by the designer clothes she wears. Who cares who she is wearing? What was the point of even saying that?  Does she have any idea what she sounds like?  It reminds me of this one incident in high school.  It was after gym class and a bunch of us girls were in the locker room changing back into our Catholic school uniforms. One girl, Maria Louisa, said out loud "Does anyone have any perfume?  Oh, never mind. I have Oscar de la Renta in my locker."  She put the emphasis on "Oscar de la Renta".  What she was trying to do was painfully transparent. It was also very embarrassing for her. She thought having a designer perfume somehow made her a more worthy person. That's exactly what designer labels, brands and products try to make you think through means of marketing manipulation. I didn't fall for it as a teen and I definitely don't fall for it now. I don't think it's possible for me to care less if someone owned a Rolex or Christian Louboutin shoes. It does not impress me because it's meaningless.  I like clothes and I like to look nice and well put together.  I don't need to wear a designer label to achieve that and I'm not stupid enough to waste my hard earned money on that nonsense. Not even if I suddenly became rich; because my principles and who I am as a person are too deeply ingrained in my psyche. Looking back on it, I can see that Maria Louisa was a very insecure teen that was seeking acceptance from her peers.  Just like Gaga is today.  I actually feel sorry for her (just a little) because wearing Versace this or Prada that means shit and one day she will see that. Or not.  Gaga might be a lost cause at this point. Her arrogance and grandiosity is like a snake swallowing it's own tail.  Since she's keen to keep all the "yes" people around her, her insufferable personality is only going to get worse.

As for Bob Wilson, can someone please take his Quaaludes away from him!  What he says about Gaga is so unhinged and irrational.  

"She would look at the image (his painting of her) and after a while she would look at her face in a mirror and something happened, and I would shoot her (with a taser I hope)... There's a nobility to her. She's a real princess."

Lady Gaga's Brilliant Advice for Pregnant Fan

Our Lady Grist the Redeemer had some deep and profound advice for a young pregnant fan.  On Gaga's social media site Little Monsters, and fan wrote "Omg... I'm pregnant I'm so scared if I tell my parents and mainly my dad he going to kill me I took like 4 test to prove it but it all came back possve (sic) I'm pregnant omg help please... I know I made a mistake."

To which Gaga replied  "Tell your parents, everything will be ok. Yu (sic) just need their support right now. Don't be scared... Just tell your mom privately... Don't worry honey don't be scared. Any decision you make is the right one and you'll be ok."

Wow. That's so, so......what's the word I'm looking for, so, so........useful? No, helpful? How about useless? How about lazy.  What a lazy, basic answer to come from a woman that thinks she has what it takes to run a youth foundation. I'm surprised she didn't tell her to go shopping for designer clothes and fur to cheer her up.

Hey kid, if you want some advice, you should've come to me.  You're 14 years old with your whole life ahead of you. Judging on how you communicated your problem to Gaga, my guess is you're not not mentally or emotionally mature enough to have a kid. If you're going to keep this baby, you better have a good support system and a lot of help, because you still have years of school to go through and make something of your life. You're going to want to be a teenager and have fun and do the things that kids your age do. This baby is, to be nice, going to change your life drastically; and not only in a good way.  Be prepared for the rudest awakening of your life.  Of course it's not the baby's fault but this is reality and the truth sometimes sucks. Kiss every ounce of the freedom you have left good-bye. If you want to keep your baby, make sure your mom and dad will co-parent with you. If not, there's always adoption. I won't suggest abortion because I don't believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. You're a dumb kid that fucked up. Is that harsh? Suck it up. You should know at your age how babies are made and you made a dumb decision. The baby shouldn't have to pay for your ineptness. Now if abortion is your choice, I won't judge you for it either.  Go talk to a counselor and work through your emotions and feelings with an unbiased professional because we both know how your parents are going to react. Congratulations, you just aged them ten years. Just a tip though, after getting Gaga's brilliant piece of advice, steer clear of The Born This Way Foundation.

Bashing Lady Gaga is Bad for Society

Dumb and Dumber

First of all, I'm not a Lady Gaga fan, never been. Not even at the top of her game, when she took over the music industry releasing a string of massive hits. Hits which were presented as an artsy way of expressing herself while, in reality, they were just eurodance beats often accompanied by a video about her being naked most of the times. Oh, look, a blonde white skinny young female without clothes on. How original.

While everyone in U.S. went "ooh" and "ahh" for Lady Gaga's "refreshing" sound and stage presence (at least she can sing and play instruments), we in Europe weren't really hearing nothing new as we actually invented that sound during the 90s. The only original thing she has done, somehow, ismaking it popular in the global market.

Eventually she became so popular that most people started adoring her like a new messiah (Madonna) and other popstars joined the compliments wagon even if it made them look like lesser deities. Probably because the one who dared belittling her, Christina Aguilera, received so much backlash she still has to fully recover from it. The critically acclaimed version of "Paparazzi" performed during the 2009 VMAs was so much well received that even I, by watching it live as I was living in North America back then, had to admit that she was here to stay.

ARTFLOP Tour Lives Up To It's Name

THIS IS A POP EMERGENCY!! Someone call 911! ARTRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball is dying and needs emergency resuscitation! Quick! Where's the defibrillator?  Scissors!  I need scissors to cut open the ARTSHIRT! Phew!  There we go.

Not sure if this is going to work.  There isn't any amount of promotion to save the ARTRAVE.  What I'm witnessing before my very eyes on Ticketmaster's website is enough to make the most hardened of hearts cry.  Oversaturation and pretension is never a good thing.

So far only the North American dates have been announced.  Although European, Asian and uh, South American dates haven't been announced, I'm sure she'll go there as soon as she erases the original ARTPOP release date from the collective memory and re-releases it with ARTPOP II. Although I'm not sure why she would bother.  The tour starts in the US and Canada to make up for cancelled dates due to her plastic hip surgery.

This is like the South American leg of the Born This Way Ball all over again.
