Lady Gaga Settles Lawsuit

After months of silence, Lady Gaga agrees to settle the $5 million lawsuit against her.  Exactly one year ago, Stefani was sued for misleading people through her Pray for Japan charity.  To recap, a charity is a not for profit and Stefani was charging sales tax and shipping to everyone who purchased her charity bracelets which does not fall into accord with the concept of "not for profit".  There were also several complaints that people who bought the bracelet allegedly didn't receive it.

Alyson Oliver, an attorney from the Detroit, Michigan law firm behind the lawsuit claims that not all the money went to the intended Japanese victims.  Very sketchy.  Stefani agreed to settle by donating $107,500 to victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

We have yet to hear the outcome on another pending lawsuit.  Last August, Stefani was sued by Rebecca Francescatti for plagiarising her song "Juda".

Gaga's Manager Calls Her a "200 lbs" Toddler

Oh the irony at Troy Carter saying that Stefani has more ground to cover.  Really? Where is this ground because I don't think there's much left. It seems since 2009 she's already tried to cram 30 years work into four.  The list goes as such:

She's done the outrageous outfits; pissed off the church; pissed off conservatives; jumped on the LGBT band wagon; started a charity foundation; started a social networking site; "created" a really expensive Christmas product line for a really expensive department store; started a perfume line; opened her own perfume laboratory; starred on SNL; is making a cameo in a Hollywood blockbuster; voiced over her character on The Simpsons; dating an actor; put out a coffee table photo book; created a printer for to Polaroid; duets with two artists; played for a former President, met with the current President; got Oprah to kiss her ass;  writes for a magazine; dressed up as as a man; been sued twice; appeared on American Idol; released a Christmas album; shot a Christmas special; has the most Twitter followers (wow); touring for a century, won a few Grammy and various other awards and put out 3 albums with a 4th one coming by the end of the year, one of which is the album of the decade.

I think I read somewhere that she's starting a clothing line.

Did I miss anything?

Instead of gradually spreading this out and reducing the overkill risk, Stefani has put everything out there in such a short span and has made herself into a tiresome bore.  It's almost as if she desperate not to be forgotten about that she does her damnest to make sure we don't.

I'm going to give Troy and Gag's the benefit of the doubt and compile a list of what else she can do in her "developing" career.

  • porn
  • shoot a Pepsi commercial
  • leak a sex tape
  • open a restaurant
  • wear jeans and a t-shirt
  • write a good song
  • get a DUI and get busted for coke found in her purse that belongs to "her friend"
  • go to a refugee camp in Africa to feed the poor and pose for tons of photo ops while there
  • get a divorce and put out a statement that says "We are announcing our divorce, but want to express with sincerity that we main close friends, committed partners, and dedicated to our children who are our first priority.  We ask that the press respect us in this difficult time.”

Can you think of anything else left for Stefani to do?

Moving on.  This part I found rather interesting and very telling of the Gaga Inc. mentality.  When questioned about the events in Indonesia surrounding Stefani's concert, Troy Carter has this to say:

Unbelievable!  The narcissism! This right here folks is the absurd amount of self importance and arrogance steaming from the Gaga camp.  Whether you believe in Christ or not, the act of comparing a pop star to him is a pathetic, laughable and downright annoying.

If you want to talk about crucifixions, I will make a comparison between the two.  Yes, Jesus was crucified, by those who wished to suppress and harm him.  Stefani on the other hand is doing a fine job at crucifying herself.

If you want to bore yourself silly, sit though 49 minutes of Troy Carter's keynote speech at Music Matters.

Born This Way Ball Review: Gaga goes on (and on) in Sydney

Read the rest at the Sydney Morning Herald.  Basically she doesn't shut the fuck up and lacks momentum.  Finally, someone in the media isn't blowing smoke up her ass!

Cade, were you there?

Here's some comments from the Sydney article that aren't so praise worthy.

So Lady Starlight opened.  This is what happens when you let your friends open your show.
