Lady Gaga and Muppets' Thanksgiving more like Flopsgiving

Lady Gaga and the Muppet's Thanksgiving special!!  Sounds like a real ratings winner for the pop star and her 40 million plus Twitter followers.  Seriously, who wouldn't want to watch this?  What parent wouldn't want to sit their child in front of the TV on a cold winter's night; with a hot chocolate in one hand, teddy bear in the other and alcohol and drug addicted Gaga yodeling on television with Miss Piggy.  What a great idea ABC!  What an innovative, creative and genius marketing strategy to draw in the viewers.  Gaga's special killed it in the ratings.  Everyone, and what I mean by that is EVERYONE, tuned in to watch Gaga shake the kiddie world up with Kermit the Frog.  It was a huge success for ABC and executives at the network are clinking champagne glasses right now.

Actually, no, that didn't happen; and it didn't work.  As Entertainment Weekly reported, Gaga's Thanksgiving Special was a big turkey.  Her show was left in the dust by 40 year old classic A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.  I'm glad to see there's still hope for taste!

ABC aired Michael Jackson's 25 in the same time slot last year on Thanksgiving.  Bad 25 also rated higher than Gaga's.  Here's a little snippet from last night's show.

This video leaves me with one question and that is, has she seen her face in a mirror lately?  Gaga, lay off the Botox FFS!

The singer sang a duet (Applause) with Kermit the Frog as well as Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and RuPaul.  Gaga's Muppet special was to give an avant garde (BUAH!) feel on a classic show; as well as a chance for Gaga to promote her album ARTPOP.   It didn't work either.  ARTPOP is still flopping and people don't want classics tarnished, butchered or bastardized with Gaga's brand of faux art.  That saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here.

Personally, I think Kermit should've ripped into the fur wearing animal killer for using his name and likeness a few years ago when she opened her mouth and lied.

UPDATE

Chris Tanasoff just published a blog post about ARTPOP and it's current worldwide sales.  Please check it out!
