Gaga Panda

Finally! I thought I was the only to notice this.  Time of India has too.  When Gaga was in Japan, as a sign of her love (or ignorance) for Japan, she paid tribute by painting her eyes to look like a panda bear.

She says "I really like pandas. Pandas have paws, and I always tell my fans to put their paws up. I've been eating a lot of bamboo this week," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the show.

The problem is that Gaga may have confused her love for Japan with neighboring China.  You see, the panda bear is a loved symbol of Chinese culture, not Japanese.  Gaga appeared on a Japanese television show dressed as a panda.

She later added during the how that her dream is 'one day having panda babies'. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

Then again, most of the stuff that comes out of Gaga's mouth is nonsensical gibberish peppered with big words to make her sound smart and educated. But I guess the "haters" just don't get her or her message.

A Brilliant Article on Mother Monster

I stumbled on this brilliant article on Lady Gaga on fierceandnerdy.com.  The author, Joshua Mauldin, puts it so eloquently on why he's a Gaga "hater".   Just because one doesn't like Gaga doesn't mean we are haters.  We just see through the facade.

The Court Jester of Pop: Is Lady Gaga Using Payola?

It sure seems that way to Peter Buchanan and other music industry insiders.   According to sources, Gaga's been on the decline and her PR team and Gaga are paying Rolling Stone Magazine to publish stories about her which praise her and make her larger than life.

The latest would be crowning Gaga the new Queen of Pop of this generation.  Let's get real here though, the title spans from the years 2009-2011.  That isn't enough time to call it a generation.  Is this a blatant slap in the face for the other pop girlies from say 2000-2008?  There were others you know.

I'm not a fan of Britney either but she was a huge force to be contended with.  Britney was a mega pop star.  So why were the years 2009-2011 singled out to be relevant opposed to 2003-2006?  Did Gaga's team pay off Rolling Stone to pick those years where Gaga is at her strongest to try to cement her longevity in the music business?  Is Gaga getting desperate due to her declining sales and over exposure?  Can she tell that once where people saw her as the only one who would be able to match what Madonna has accomplished now see her as this parody?  Maybe.

Gaga is tanking.  She did not sell 5 million copies worldwide.  Honestly, I think she refers to the single Born This Way and not the album but she didn't exactly spell that out.  She knew people would assume she meant the album and chatter across the Internet would spread like wild fire.  Well, she got it.  Now everyone thinks the flop of an album is selling faster than hot cakes when the truth is that it isn't.

Look up the numbers and do the math.  There are countless articles about Gaga's decline in sales.  The sales were helped enormously by Gaga goosing the sales through Amazon's 0.99 cent deal.  Just for the record, I don't buy it that Amazon would allow themselves to lose millions by deciding to sell Born This Way for 0.99 cents, considerably less than what they paid for it.  That was just some made up la di da to make Gaga look good.  She goosed her sales over two days which aided the final over all sales amount.

Album of the decade, I think not.  Nor will she ever be The Queen of Pop.  The Court Jester of Pop is a more suitable title.
