Music I like: Afghanistan's first indie rock band.

Sulyman Qardash, Mujtaba Habibi and Siddique Ahmed of Kabul Dreams

Meet Kabul Dreams, Afghanistan's first indie rock band.  Kabul Dreams formed in 2009 and returned to their homeland after the fall of the Taliban.  The trio do not share a common Afghan dialect so they choose to sing primarily in English.

I think it's amazing that out of a war torn country like Afghanistan rises three young men to help connect the world to Afghanistan through their music - a language everyone understands.

You can find them on Facebook on their official page and on Twitter.

Check out more of their music on their MySpace page.  The Afghanistan Times wrote a post on the band that you should read as well.
