Lady Gaga Can't Take Criticism

Gaga in her Haute Coutour and NY Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn

Lady Gaga's super fragile ego has a hard time accepting the fact that not everyone loves her.  Stefani used her latest column for V magazine to take a swipe at New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn.  In one of Cathy's latest columns, she does her job, as a critic and comments on Stefani's outfit in the “Edge of Glory” video, Horyn wrote

"She looked embalmed in the black Versace harness (apparently from Gianni Versace’s final collection), and I don’t know why Donatella Versace said she was honored by Gaga’s selection, unless, of course, she thought she had to say something nice about the superstar. But a D.O.A. video doesn’t help the House of Versace. Be choosier, Ms. Versace."

Apparently to Stefani, if a fashion critic doesn't like her clothes, it means they are negative and cynical rather than original and having done their research.  Perhaps, Lady Gaga, could it simply mean they don't like the way you dress?  Could it even possibly mean that there is someone out there who hasn't fallen in love with you and isn't eating your bullshit by the shovel full?   Could it even, catch my breath, mean that not everything you do comes through the glittery gates of Pop Heaven, gracing society with your (lack of) originality and splendor? Stefani says in her column:

"In the age of the Internet, when collections and performances are so accessible to the public and anyone can post a review on Facebook or Twitter, shouldn’t columnists and reviewers, such as Cathy Horyn, employ a more modern and forward approach to criticism, one that separates them from the average individual at home on their laptop? The reality of today’s media is that there are no echelons, and if they’re not careful, the most astute and educated journalists can be reduced to gossipers.”

Oh, so that's it!  If you don't like Gaga or don't "get her" and you speak or write about it, that makes you a gossiper.   Of course!  Why can't Stefani simply accept that not everyone worships the ground she walks on?  I'll tell you why.  Because that fact is quite the challenge and virtually impossible for someone with a narcissistic personality disorder possibly combined with histrionic personality disorder to accept.  The depth of her narcissism never shone so clearly as it did at the VMA awards.  To dress as an alter ego so you can perform a monologue, probably written by you, to talk about yourself as a star is appalling. That is what Stefani did.

So the long-standing journalistic hierarchy is deemed “irrelevant” by Mama Monster because she knows everything and she knows best.  Stefani is the expert in fashion despite being a pop star for only three years, no background in fashion and who's fashion choices are a Kermit the Frog dress, filet mignon, gimp masks, 50 feet high heel boots and shoes and everything other pop stars have worn before.

Gaga also wrote of Horyn:

"It's so easy to say something is bad. It's so easy to write, 'One star, hated it, worst show of the season.' It's much more challenging to reckon with and analyze a work. It requires research, but maybe no one does their research anymore."

Well Gaga, I'll give that one to you.  Clearly you really do your research and you don't hold back on how deep you will dive to do it.  Your extensive research is crystal clear in your clothes, music, products and creates a, oh I don't know, sense of deja vu.
